Random Weekend Thoughts
April 29, 2012It's not often that I post on a weekend, but I have all sorts of random thoughts, and while many of these fully deserve their own post, I'm really not sure when life will slow down enough for me to give them each the time they deserve.
Surgery - Lily's ear tube placement surgery went completely as expected. Very routine and no issues - PRAISE GOD! She has had really no issues all weekend and is completely 100% recovered! I so hope this is a start of something new for her, as she has basically been sick every other week since February!
Weigh In - So last week at Weight Watchers I gained 2.2 pounds. How I gained it? Not a clue! I ate within my points and exercised 4 times. It was so incredibly frustrating. This week I thought maybe I'd have a large weight loss to correct the injustice of gaining 2.2 pounds. Nope... not meant to be. I was down .8. Post Baby weight loss definitely deserves its own post, but for now I just want to say that this is so much harder than the first time down. I've heard all sorts of theories... believe me. I just want to be rewarded for my hard work. At some point it becomes impossible to continue doing this without some sort of progress. I don't know what that point is yet though.
Running - Last week my runs were so hard post race. I'm not sure why, but I could barely make it through 12-15 minutes of running without stopping to walk. I'm not sure why I even think that is so bad, but after running 36+ minutes straight it just seems so strange. Given that my weight loss has been so stalled, and has actually gotten worse while running, I'm considered something else in the exercise realm. I'm just not sure what that is right now.
Blog Redesign - I'm working diligently on a blog redesign right now. I'm especially excited to have a new custom header for my blog. I'm hoping to release my new design some time in May. Watch for it!

Sarah, have you had your thyroid (and other levels like vit D & B) checked? Maybe there's a medical reason for the weight loss slowness?
ReplyDeleteSo glad things with Lily went well! I had tubes in at 6 months too and was a chronic-ear infection baby. No fun!
I run intervals when I run too! I've run my fastest races with walk breaks. Just means I run harder on the run interval and back off on the walk. Have you heard of the Galloway Method? http://www.jeffgalloway.com/ Something to think about if you're feeling down about walk breaks. :)
I LOVE hearing your thoughts and feedback. Please leave me a comment
