GIVEAWAY: What’s in Your Bag?
February 18, 2011Sometimes life gets crazy. We all have those days where we are so busy we can’t keep things together or find what we need when we want it. It’s on those days that a great laptop messenger bag or any sort of bag that keeps things organized when you want them will be a lifesaver.
I think it could also be helpful on your journey to health. We all know that bringing along our own snacks/lunch for instance will keep us away from the vending machine and fast food drive-thrus. It can also help to keep your food journal in your bag with you. I always say “bite it and write it.” It definitely keeps me on track.
I’ll admit sometimes I live out of my laptop bag or my purse. If you looked in there right now you’d find:
- an empty Tupperware that had Nutella in it for my toast this morning
- a church bulletin from last Sunday
- a half eaten granola bar
- My weight watchers materials/journal
- mittens
- makeup
- gum
-old pay stubs
- my gym membership scan card
- coupons
- an American Express gift card, tucked into a thank you note.
- 2 pairs of sunglasses – one broken one not
- cell phone charger
- GPS charger
- iPod charger
- Weight Watchers weekly
- Samsung Intercept cell phone (my latest toy)

ReplyDeleteas far as what's in my purse... everything except a small child (although i could fit that as well). The thing I couldn't live without that lives in my purse is my smart phone. i have a samsung epic and i do EVERYTHING on it. i track my WW points and activity with the WWDiary app, i look up nutritional info with the fatsecret app and i prepare blog entries and answer emails using the Wordpress app and Gmail app!
ReplyDeleteI think I would disintegrate if I lost it. (that would be an easy way to lose weight....)
Hey Sarah - thanks for the contest! In my bag - two point snack bar in case I get caught out and won't have to find a fast food place, my WW journal, some gum,
ReplyDeleteLip gloss, phone, sudoku book, and a little cash! I carry a small purse! Love your blog, you are such an inspiration.

Okay, what I keep in my bag/purse:
ReplyDeleteMy franklin planner - keep track of my life!
Digital camera - take pics of what I eat often
Small lotion - my hands get dry often
Sugar free gum - a must in between meals for me
Comb
Coupons
Extra Medifast bar or two - in case eating time comes when I'm out
Lip balm
TSFL brochures / leaflet - when people ask about my weight loss
Cell phone and charger
And that's about it. I don't leave home without any of this!! :)
My purse has my school id so I can get into the gym, my iPod, random receipts, too many store membership cards, my training schedule and Kleenex. I recently switched to a small purse; when I have a large one I have everything but the kitchen sink with me:-)

ReplyDeleteIn my bag I have:
ReplyDeletecell phone
apple
chap stick
wallet
"To Do List"
multiple pens
check book (This usually stays at home, but I grabbed it this morning because I need to write out some payments.)
Nook
My bag has my life in it, really. Everything from my wallet (stuffed with normal things like cash drivers license and gift cards in it) parking recipts that need to be turned in for work. notebooks pens a marker, my business cards for my blog, my snacks right now I have bags of sahale snacks and dried fruit and beef jerkey (that is shredded and looks like chew)
ReplyDeleteI don't usually leave the house without tossing my iPod touch into my purse either. That is where I keep track of my food. I also keep a book or two in my bag. also in there are coupons and a flashlight. One of the compartments has my epipen rubbing alcohol wipes and my medications and tissues in it. It really is a catchall for everything. I would be lost without my bag.
It is big, but I do clean it out every week or two to make sure there is not a lot of junk in it.
Count me in! I'm a subscriber to your blog. I won't bore you with the contents of my bag, but will say that it continues to get lighter as I grow older, and I like that-easier on the back!
ReplyDeleteSarah-I am a follower of your blog and it inspires me when I think I need to go eat something in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteTHanks,
Melanie
In my bag well here goes: my wallet with all the essential cards and cash, date book, cell phone, WW weekly and passbook (just got back from a meeting), extra car keys and house key to my sis-in-laws house, business checkbook, coupon filer, hand sanitizer, inhaler, advil, lotion, and rewetting eye drops and pics of my three girls.
ReplyDeleteMelanie
In my purse: wallet, keys, phone, about 3.5 pairs of gloves because I'm always losing them, extra car keys in case I lock myself out of my car with it running (have done this twice, hence extra keys), pens, checkbook, mini hairbrush, coupon wallet, feminine hygiene products, notepad, whatever I've bought while I was out if it fits in the purse, little screwdriver for adjusting eyeglasses, Advil, DVDs from Blockbuster. I just switched purses; the old one was a mess of random papers and receipts in addition to the above.
