Do Me a Favor

October 12, 2010

Another Update:
I FINALLY got the results back yesterday!  NORMAL!!!!  All normal - of course except for the fact that's he's 3 and his fontanel is still open.  But everything looks completely healthy and great inside his brain!  And I'm not worried for one minute about that fontanel .  "L"  has always followed his own time schedule with everything.  He has taught me patience in these past 3 years.  He has taught me that not everything can have a schedule.  He continues to teach us these things.  What an incredibly emotional week.  I am certainly humbled in the presence of God's power and grace that allowed us to make it through this week.  And I am so forever thankful to all of the prayers we received.

Update:  The MRI went well.  He handled the sedation well, and was brave, just like I predicted.  It did take them about 15-20 minutes longer than normal, because he kept coughing.  They had to pull him out of the machine a couple of times and suction out his nose/mouth, and start taking the picture over.  The first thing he said to me after waking up:  "I am ready for my donut now."  (I had promised him a trip to get a donut - a rare treat around here) I love it!  Anyways, we don't have any sort of results yet, hopefully in the next couple of days we will get more information.  I hate the waiting, but I feel at peace.

Can you do me a favor, please?
Can you keep this sweet, sweet boy in your prayers tonight?

He has a brain MRI in the morning.  He will have anesthesia for the procedure.  We will find out if anything bad is happening inside that little big head of his.  He will be brave, that I am sure of!  He has always been in his short life.  I, on the other hand, won't be.
And as I try and fine peace tonight, I can rely on this absolute truth:
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ."
